About Bray Cruiser Club

The club is based on the river Thames at Bray, midway between Maidenhead and Windsor. With a membership of about 55 boats, the club is small enough to be friendly, but large enough to offer a very full boating and social calendar. Many members have children and we are well known as a family club.

Our boating season starts with a fitting out cruise on the river, and ends with a laying up cruise. These are leisurely affairs to such venues as Henley, Marlow and Sonning. Other river events include two barbecues and a boat handling competition. Each year we also support in large numbers the annual Thames Valley Rally at Henley.

If you wish to be more adventurous you can join a tidal cruise-in-company to Limehouse or St Katherine's Yacht Haven. Further afield we organise a spring cruise to a destination such as Rochester on the Medway. This is an excellent opportunity to make your first sea trip in company.

For the summer, there is usually a choice of cruises, for example a "downriver/upriver" cruise to London and then back up to Oxford, Abingdon or Dorchester, either an East coast cruise or a cruise to Belgium, Holland or France.

A winter social program keeps everyone in touch thus enabling summer cruises to be planned, in addition to a Dinner Dance and a Christmas Party. The clubhouse, situated in Bray Marina is open for educational and social evenings.
